Does this sound familiar?

CHALLENGES

  • You spend 3 million yen on job ads, but get zero applications.
  • Even when you finally hire someone, they quit within six months.
  • You send out recruitment emails, but no one takes notice.
  • You’re on the verge of giving up, thinking your industry is too low-key or your line of work too difficult to get into.
  • The job listings just don’t resonate at all with young people or female job seekers.
  • Even when you make a hire, you can’t see a clear path to training and retention.

If even one of these applies to you, please read on.

It’s because you’re “treating hiring as a one-off event.”

WHY

You post a job ad, wait for applications, conduct interviews, and extend a job offer. Is that where it ends?

Recruitment is a long journey—from the job ad to employee retention. What do you communicate during the recruitment phase? What do you share during interviews? How do you develop employees after they join? And how do you help them thrive once they’re settled in?

This is a six-month to one-year project where the CEO and employees work together to design these “before, during, and after” phases as a single narrative. That is Manga Culture’s Recruitment Manga Project.

When a single employee leaves early, it means losing the entire amount spent on recruitment and training up to that point. One-off hiring quietly repeats this loss over and over.

Recruitment Manga Project—Cultivating a Story Together—

CONCEPT

A six-month to one-year project in which the CEO and employees collaborate to turn your company’s appeal into a story and nurture it together.

Through shared experiences, the mascot character and serialized manga take root within the company as a storytelling culture, fostering an organization that inspires job seekers, employees, and the CEO alike.

What Your Company Gains:

  • Your company’s appeal will spread.
  • Employees become fans of their own company.
  • Employees will start talking about what makes the company great.
  • People who are truly committed to their work will be drawn to your company.
  • Retention rates rise. Turnover decreases.
  • The company becomes an organization where the CEO and employees work together to build momentum, leading directly to improved business performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

Q1. How long does the production period take?

A. This is a project-based initiative lasting six months to one year. In the first month, we’ll create the mascot and conduct workplace interviews; starting in the second month, we’ll begin publishing the recruitment manga.

Q2. Will this work even if our industry is considered difficult to approach?

A. In fact, this is our specialty. For Maeda Machinery, we anthropomorphized machine tools to create a character universe that resonates with young and female job seekers. The more traditional the industry, the more effective the contrast with manga becomes.

Q3. Is it true that you can attend recruitment interviews with us?

A. Yes, we provide that support. However, this is offered in a two-tier structure. Planning for our presence at the

design level is included in our ongoing support.
・Aligning candidate selection criteria ・Designing items
to confirm during the interview ・Discussing
candidate handling policies ・Designing
post-interview debriefing Actual on-site

attendance at the interview will be quoted separately on a case-by-case basis as “Recruitment Operations.”
・Accompanying
you to the interview venue; ・Support
in interacting with candidates; ・Preparing
interview records; ・Consulting
on the preparation of the Notice of Employment Conditions; ・Coordinating with the certified social insurance and labor consultant firm Voice. We will propose the optimal combination based on

your company’s hiring phase and the number of candidates.

Q4. Will Manga Culture handle posting job listings on recruitment platforms?

A. You will be responsible for posting the job listings yourself. Manga Culture handles strategic planning for media selection, recruitment manga creative, drafting initial text drafts, and operational consultation. The reason is that recruitment is fundamental to your company’s management. Rather than taking over these tasks and undermining your company’s recruitment capabilities, we prioritize working together to build a foundation that allows you to operate independently.

Q5. Can we really receive the subsidy?

A. We’ll assess your eligibility in collaboration with a certified social insurance and labor consultant. The Career Advancement Grant (Full-Time Employment Track) offers 400,000 yen per person × 2 times = 800,000 yen.It is also possible to combine this with the Human Resource Development Support Grant. If your company has a retained social insurance and labor consultant, we will work with them; if not, we will partner with one of Manga Culture’s affiliated consultants.

Q6. How do you measure effectiveness?

A. We will provide monthly reports detailing the number of applications, the number of interviews, the job offer acceptance rate, and the retention rate after employment.

Q7. Can this be used for hiring part-time or temporary staff?

A. Yes, it can. In fact, when hiring part-time or temporary staff, the workplace’s character and atmosphere tend to be decisive factors, making this an area where manga is particularly effective.
